Question regarding Guy Gardner and Rao (Absolute Green Lantern #15)

So we see that in issue #15 of AGL that Guy Gardner is able to replicate the Red Lantern acid breath from the main universe by using his stomach acid and body manipulation. But I was under the impression from Issue #8 that Rao (red lanterns) trained under Oa weren't able to attack with their abilities, which is what made Tomar-Re so powerful (that he can attack with Rao powers). So I'm wondering how Guy was able to make this attack, since I thought he was under Oa teachings along with John Stewart (since he was selected by the Abin Sur). So is he not bound by Oa teachings/a Tomar? Or does the stomach acid thing just not count as an attack according to Oa teaching? I'm leaning towards the former rn but I would like some clarification.

With the success of Absolute Green Arrow so far, think we get a second arc?

So long as they stick the landing, seems like they have a winner so far. The initial mystery will of course be done, but there's plenty of crime thriller plots they could explore. I was actually thinking maybe they could bring in Jo from AGL and do a new age Green Arrow/Green Lantern book with Dinah.

Tier list on how much each Absolute series has made me tear up

https://preview.redd.it/wiwxdmhlifbh1.png?width=1140&format=png&auto=webp&s=d826c44b5addc77a760a58420ce33f0a1b928a9c

Spoilers for all Absolute titles ahead but mainly (Absolute Superman #15, Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman Annual #1's). All spoilers are tagged, please proceed at your own risk.

Ranking explanation

Tier 1: It's a story about alienation, empathy and the human condition wrapped in a psychedelic package. It really is a story that's best approached from an emotional angle rather than a logical one. Absolute MM really is a story where every single issue is an acid trip, but a genuinely beautiful trip to say the least.

Tier 2: First off Issue No. 15 of Absolute Superman onwards is fucking fantastic. Everyone will tell you that >!the scene of him holding the dying little girl, to give her one last sight to see, is just Grade A Superman material.!< This is the motherfucker who live NEVER give up on you. He's the person you fear disappointing, not because he expects the world of you. He just expects you to be better. And yeah I know...that's Superman in a nutshell, but at the same time, that's what makes him so emotionally gripping.

Then there's the Absolute Batman annual. A lot of people love to bring up the Nazi beat down as their favorite part of that story, and I also love that scene. But what really got me in the fucking gut, is the melancholy that this annual holds. It's not just a story about beating bad people. It's a poignant story about reflection and love. >!Bruce's dejected tears as he proclaims that this is HIS way of doing things is so profound. And then after all the bloody carnage the scene that immediately follows up is the quiet, despondent look at Bruce's bloodied hands...and his fathers voice telling him he will always be proud of him. And the thing that just nails this moment is in the very last few panels of the second short story, where despite EVERYTHING the young party animal did to his father, that same man held him and told him...you're all right kid. I'm sure that's something Bruce wishes he could hear...!<

Absolute Wonder Woman is in a very similar boat to Absolute Batman, in terms of what its annual being where the major feels are. But man the thing about Diana is that >!even if Aphrodite has cursed her to be loved by everyone. Diana is the one person who doesn't need a curse to love everyone herself. This is Woman who, told Medusa, of all the greek "monsters" out there that Medusa "I see you."!< Honestly, hearing Diana say those words brought tears to my eyes, cause she's the fucking GOAT.

Tier 3: If you've read Absolute GL and Absolute Flash you'll know why they're here. They aren't bad stories mind you, they have a lot going on, but I have yet to truly FEEL for Wally and Jo the way I did for the previous three series. Yet I do think they both have the sauce. And I will say Jeff might get me if he shoots the monkey...DON'T KILL THE MONKEY JEFF!!!

Tier 4: I ain't crying for no billionaires lmfao. Also do you get the pun Queen never cry? C-cause it's Oliver Quee- I'll stop.

I didn't quite understand what "Anti-Life" is in the Absolute Universe.

I'm reading *Martian Manhunter*, and the Martian has mentioned the "Anti-Life" a few times; I don't know if it's the same as in the main universe.

I am completely and utterly lost regarding Absolute Green Lantern. All the other Absolute series are making sense, but GL is just incoherent to me

I feel like I should know all the lore of mainline GL to understand the Absolute version, but that isn’t the case with any other Absolute title. I feel completely lost with Absolute Green Lantern, it isn’t making any sense to me since like issue 10. It was nicely mysterious up until about that point, but then it got, as I said in the title, completely incoherent to me.

Am I the only one? Do I need to understand the mainline version of GL to understand the Absolute one?

If Absolute Bats Uses Fear Toxin As A Last Resort, I’ll Love Snyder Forever.

Yes, Suicide Squad:Kill The Justice League was very underwhelming. But the Batman boss fight was absolutely amazing. You’re in the POV of criminals and Batman(mind controlled) is using his tricks the player knows against you. The introduction was chilling. You see a nurse running down the halls and you see Bats dragging her back into the corridor. You hear him moving in the background.

All of sudden when you win against him you see a familiar yellow smoke background and you realize Bats is immune to fear toxin and is using it against you!

What voice did you guys give this guy? Unlike characters like Joker, Lex, or Eobard, Desparo doesn't really have a specific famous VA, to my knowledge at least.

For some reason (probably the toothy "grin") he always sounded like Venom from the Neversoft Spider-Man games.

Absolute Firestorm idea

Since Absolute Flash #2 has been out for a while now I hope this isn’t considered a spoiler but I have an idea for an absolute Firestorm since his fury of firestorm mini series is doing pretty well!!

Instead of it being the tradition highschooler, and genius scientist share one body idea— maybe have it be Ronnie Raymond and Jason Rusch that share the body. I think it would be interesting if the “they” that’s referred to here is Doctor Stein and (since he’s not the most trustful person rn) you have him be a mad scientist type of character who created the matrix. So that would leave Ronnie and Jason on their own to figure out what has happened to them, potentially both of them fighting for control of the body, and stein can be the new bad guy.
Lemme know what you guys think!! This is my first time posting on this sub and I hope I abided by all the rules correctly!!

No more doubt. (Absolute Superman #20)

Not only is this a direct confirmation besides her “look”, but it seems she is already a scion of Trigon! Maybe we even get Absolute Trigon eventually!?
