Future Opportunities for Non Circuital Students.
Hello everyone, I am a fresher at IIT BHU (non circuital). I joined this college just because of the IIT tag and was planning to move to non core (swe, data analysis, data science, AI/ML whatever suits me best) just like every non circuital guy in a typical IIT.
When I was doing my JoSAA counselling everyone said that take non circuital at IIT over any a Tier - 2/3/4 NIT CSE because IIT tag gives you more opportunities even if you are from non core but uppon arriving here. I am only seeing negative things about non circuital students right now, that getting placed or even get an intern has got hell difficult if you are non in circuital. Everyone is saying that job market is fucked, and then Everyday I hear about the scandals of TPCs/TPRs in IIT BHU where students complain that those people benefit their friends, cheat during intern season and placements and get their life sorted while deserving candidates are left stranded.
I am feeling very hopeless right now because if what I am listening from everybody is true then I would only be on the fate of my luck. Because even if I developed skills for tech placements I might not get placed because maybe the company would reject seeing my branch or a place is filled by someone close to TPR/TPC. Please someone please guide me. I came here because I only wanted good placements I don't want to be stay jobless or get a bare minimum salary to survive. My parents have spent so much money on my studies I don't want to waste their money. So please anyone who is suffereing from this or has found a solution to this please tell me.
Or should I go to a local college and get a CS degree. Because Both the ways I will be doing the same thing, studying CS on my own at least the local college will give me a degree that I can use to at least apply for jobs in companies open to CS. Please tell me if I should do this so that I can convince my parents that I want to leave this college.
