Sus underground digging across IIT BHU
Something feels off.
A while ago, an entire side of washrooms in Vishvesvaraya hostel was closed.
And now they're digging trenches along the roads. With plan to cover them with stones.
I've got some opinions on what's motive behind all the digging.
- Theory 1: What if they're laying cables? Not standard internet cables. But something to track movement. They already have our attendance, mess records, hostel rooms. The only thing they don't know is exactly where we are between classes. A few underground sensors and that's sorted too.
- Theory 2: Someone told administration if they keep digging long enough, they'll eventually find oil. So they thought why to depend on alumni funds and improve infrastructure when you can become the infrastructure?
- Theory 3: The administration knows there's no space left to build new hostels above ground, so they've decided to build below it. It even explains why they never seem to finish construction anywhere. They're not behind schedule. They're working on two campuses simultaneously.
If I wanted to build an underground network connecting different parts of campus, this how I'd start. One section at a time and existing hostel plumbing would be a pretty convenient place to start.
