What 3 books do you think everyone here has read or at least tried to read 😮

I really want to know THE staple books / series of MM Romance so I‘ll start:

- Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat,

- Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall,

- Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I mean even I have read those and I’m so not actively engaging with any mm romance related things online 🤔

Backstory and popularity of these books

Hey guys, I have been an avid rereader of this series ever since I discovered it 3 years ago. However up until now, I’ve never really thought about how Captive Prince seems to be a staple piece in the MM Romance genre.

So for all the people out there who have been part of this fandom for a longer time or know the answer:

I would really like to understand, how why and when Captive Prince became basically a classic! Give me everything you know, the timeline, fun facts, the nitty gritty details, just everything that in your opinion contributed to it being so popular and widespread!

Most controversial mm romance books that ppl would either go to war or cancel your whole bloodline for 😀

Heey so I’m not really an active participant in any fandom so everytime I hear or read something I can’t be sure if it’s a popular or rare opinion.

What intrigued me quite a bit was how the Captive Prince series by C.S. Pacat seems to be a staple classic in the MM Romance genre and yet I get the impression that especially people on Tiktok (?) really don’t vibe with it at all?

So first of all: is that true? And secondly: Are there any other books / book series that have a really split reception and if so, what side do you stand on and why?

What is your #1 most reread book ever?

I always find myself rereading the Captive Prince series by C.S. Pacat, I believe I’m on my 11th reread since I found it first three years ago 😫 So I was very curious as to what is you guys’ most reread book (series) and how often have you reread it?

Where do you get your MM romance book recs from?

Hii, I wanted to ask you guys where you get the majority of your MM romance book recs from, excluding from this subreddit ofc :)

Are there for example any Youtubers, Instagram pages or similar, where youʼve gotten great book recs from?

I myself love to watch catbandbooks on youtube, i love her recs, sheʼs been a year long MM romance reader and she just seems really sweet! Apart from that, I also sometimes find great recs on Amazon in the similar products category (lol). Goodreads on the other hand hasnʼt given me any good recs in the past 2 years 😭

Law enforcement / Private investigator / Found Family books to obsess over

Hii I’m in such a reading drought so I hope someone has recommendations for me! Some of my all time faves are:

- {Big Bad Wolf series by Charlie Adhara}

- {Memento Mori series by C. S. Poe}

- {Spectral Files series by S. E Harmon}

- {Seven of Spades series by Cordelia Kingsbridge}

- {More Heat Than the Sun series by John Wiltshire}

- {Cut & Run series by Abigail Roux}

- {The Woodbury Boys series by Sidney Bell}

They all have MC’s that are some type of law enforcers like FBI agents or private detectives but I also have fave series that don’t follow that genre/trope like:

- {All for the Games series by Nora Sakavic}

- {Captive Prince series by C. S. Pacat}

- {Dark Heir series by C. S. Pacat}

- {London Calling series by Alexis Hall}

- {Monstrous series by Lily Mayne}

I would love another law enforcement rec but more than that I think the found family trope/ sense of belonging, explicit intimacy and great great banter between the characters are what draw me in!! HEA at the end of the series is a must :P

Books that completely took over your life to the point where you contemplate skipping school and your job for it !

Hii so I have a pretty vague request. Iʼve been trying to categorise the books i love to read but realized that more than a specific trope or genre Iʼm just utterly obsessed with books (/book series) that absolutely destroy my life in a good? way. Like the reason for why I for example havenʼt read a lot of stand-alones is because book series give me so much more time with and insight into the characters and their relationship.

- I need stories, where the plot and characters just completely envelop me and take over every particle of my brain.

- I need books where if the characters existed irl I would spend all day scrolling through their instagrams.

- I need books where I just canʼt stop looking up the coupleʼs ship name on twitter/ao3, similar to one opening their fridge every 3 minutes XD

So please give me books/ book series that have made you completely obsessed and taken over every aspect of your life!! I think I just really enjoy books that make it literally impossible to think about reality because theyʼve got such a tight grip on you

Screen adaptation

do you guys think aftg would do well if it were to be adapted for the screen? do you think it’d do better as a movie or a series? who would be your fancasts? who would be your dream directors? 🍿😸😸

Chances of a sequel

Hii so I don’t watch a lot of movies but I’ve been utterly obsessed with Leviticus so I wanted to ask the cinephiles on here how you would rate the chances of us getting a sequel to Leviticus? 🙈
