My boy is a purebred English mastiff, his mom is akc registered but I don’t think the dad is. I also didn’t get papers when I bought him, which is why he was only 1500. I’ve been wanting to get another dog, but my mom really wants to breed him. I honestly don’t think it’s worth it because he’s not a standard typical English mastiff that’s 200+ pounds. He is turning 3 on July 10th and weighs 128.5 (hes normally in the 130s but he loses weight in summer because he swims a lot.) He’s a good boy and has a good temperament other than his stubbornness. I just don’t think that he is what people are looking for when wanting to breed their English mastiffs.

My dog (English mastiff, male, 3 yrs) ear is super red, his other ear is not and is completely normal though. I just noticed it recently because he keeps flicking around his ears nonstop. I do clean his ears out with ear cleaner, but the last time I did it was a week or so ago and it did not look like this. The ear does seem to be bothering him because he’s trying to itch at it and won’t stop flicking his head around. Is this an ear infection? I don’t know what it is or what caused it. Should I take him to the vet or will it resolve on its own?
