2026 toyota bz at home level 2 charging questions

Just purchased a 2026 Toyota bz, now trying to figure out at home charging. Am I correct that I could order either a NACS/Tesla or J1772 connector model?

I was leaning towards getting a hardwired level 2 with a NACS/Tesla connector (thinking that will work with newer vehicles down the line, whereas a J1772 connector probably would not), but I will admit I don't really understand the Tesla stuff. I've read things that say certain NACS things can ONLY be used on Teslas. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Considering either a Emporia Pro Level 2 EV Charger, ChargePoint® Home Flex, or IYILO Level 2 hardwired EV Charger. Am I correct that all of these chargers can be "dumb" if need be and function without an app?

editing to add: also thinking of getting a regular old 120 V outlet installed on the outside of our house in addition to the hardwired charger (we currently have zero outside outlets) to use level one charging as a back up option if something goes wrong w/ the hardwired level 2. Is this overkill? Are the level 2s known to experience issues such that this makes sense? Otherwise we'd have to do level 1 charging through our kitchen window (did this last night and it was annoying!)

How to ensure there are no 12v battery issues when picking up a 2026 bz

I am scheduled to go purchase a used 2026 bz tomorrow. It is located 90 miles from my home, so it is not local. It's been sitting at the dealership for a few months (was almost immediately turned back in after it was sold new).

I am planning to call the dealer today to ask that they do whatever is necessary to ensure I am not dealing w/ a dead 12v tomorrow when I try to drive it home. However, as someone who knows next to nothing about cars, not sure what I need to request. So, a few questions:

  1. If I show up tomorrow and there's a 12v issue, would that present itself at the dealership, or is it possible everything would seem fine, I could drive away, then encounter the issue on the drive home?

  2. Should I ask that they drive the car today (would that help ensure there is no issue)?

  3. If there is a problem, is a jump to the car the fix, or is it more complicated because it's an electric car?

Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated!

2026 bz: larger battery worth the extra cost?

I have two 2026 toyota Bzs I am considering. Both are preowned (first buyer on both cars almost immediately returned them due to not understanding that you need a way to charge it, so they both have very minimal miles on them). Both are priced significantly under MSRP for what is essentially a new car.

One of them gets 314 miles per charge (larger battery) and is $5k more expensive. The other gets 236 miles per charge.

This would be my first electric car so I don't have the knowledge to determine whether that extra 78 miles of range is worth spending $5k more.

Any insight would be appreciated! Note: we can afford the price difference (but obviously want to spend as little as possible but get the most bang for our buck). We would use this car for driving locally 90% of the time. Maybe 1-5 road trips max per year.
