De Beers Series

Okay, so this is my first read through of this series, I promised I wouldn't read anything past 2000 (personal choice), but they happened to have all of these at a thrift store I was at.

First, I had to check about 5 times ( no joke) that Willow was the first book, because it immediately read like a second book of a VC series.

Second, I just....hates the first 3 books. I felt that maybe it would get better, especially the third book. I hated how they turned Thatcher into an asshole in the second book. I felt everything in the first and second book wrapped up too quickly. I wish in the third book Hannah had actually made it to New Orleans ( would have been a better story).

Third, I am about 100 pages from being done with the 4th book. Honestly, I wish the series was focused around Grace. I actually love this book and it has much more of the traditional story line to a VC book. I'm having a hard time that its being rushed, given what we know of her story. (We have 100 pages and we haven't even discussed Kirby Scott or the Psychiatrist hospital, I am so worried about a rushed ending)

I really, really, really wished this series was focused on Grace. I find her story much more interesting and with the details already in " Into the Woods", I know it could have been a lot more exciting.

I know I'm not done yet, but none of my friends read these books and I just needed to complain with folks who'd understand.

I know I own the 5th book, can't remember if I own the 6th, but seriously, for those who've read it,is it worth it?

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Very Weird Request (Prank)

Moderators please feel free to take down or ban if this is not allowed.

My Fiance and I just moved to Ukiah from New York. I'm from California, he is not. I have somehow managed to convince him that the eucalyptus around here is native and that California is home to native koalas. I tell him to look up into the trees every time we pass by them and I strain my neck every time as well to sell it.

Can somebody please post something on here about how they just saw a family of koalas in the eucalyptus in Mendocino? I've convinced my family to start mentioning if he's seen them yet. I've also convinced him that the local Rock shops sell koala pelts and taxidermy koalas and then I would really love one.

He's not on Reddit so he won't see it unless I show it to him.

I know this is very silly. I'm seeing how long I can keep this up for.

UPDATE: a post has been made. he believed it. and by some cosmic power who wants to add to my joke, we happened upon a "Koala Crossing" sign today on the phone way out to the coast. He's really invested in seeing koalas now. I just hope he never tries to google it 😂

Where to Find Specific Series.

Hello!

I just recently came into possession of my V.C. Andrews books again (yay!). I own The flowers in the Attic series, the heaven series, The Dawn series, and My Sweet Audrina. It sparked my urge to read them again. However, I've read all of these series at least four or five times. (Let's be honest, I'm probably going to make this reading number 6)

I'm looking to see if anyone knows where to find other series. I have the urge to read the Bayou series (for the life of me, I can't remember the name of this one) and I think it was the Butterfly series? Also, I think there was a series where a twin sister was put into an insane asylum? And the girl ended up in La? I know, great description. I had these books years ago and for whatever reason I decided to donate those series but not the others.

Personally if anyone knows somewhere where I could read them online, I would be really grateful. Kindle and my Libby app only have Flowers in the Attic. I just moved and haven't checked my local library, but the last library I had only had the series that I owned and a lot of very new stuff, which I'm not interested in too much. I'm also trying to avoid buying brand new books, used is fine.

Thanks so much! Let me know if you have a favorite series that's not, what I call, " The original three".

Edit!!!!

I found Ruby for free online!

Play at your own risk. A work in progress.

Edit: realized I spelled Giorgio wrong on the board.

Edit 2: let me know if anyone wants the data on the few episodes we've tried this on. You might not say 11 is not a lot of rules, but it's a lot of drinks
