FIRE-friendly mom car

We recently became a family of 3 and planning to be complete as a family of 4 in 2027. We're in the market for a new car. My "mom car" if you will.

I am looking for advice and recommendations on what to buy. My current car is held together by duct tape and fits approximately 3 items from Costco so it is time.

I'm in my late-30s and pursuing FIRE at 50 (very loose goal) with a current $2M investment portfolio. I'm trying to balance practicality, longevity and little fun/whimsy since I keep a car until their buying breath.

Looking at mid-size SUVs, such as:

Honda CRV

Kia Sportage or Sorento

Mazda CX5

Toyota Rav 4

Nissan Rogue

Etc.

What mom car are you rockin' and why? FI generally says buy used; do you agree? Kia's 10-year power train warranty seems like a great benefit to buying new. How would you shop and decide? Any cars I should be looking at not on the list?
