Best holiday base

Hey guys. We’re a young couple planning a 10 day Lanzarote holiday towards the end of June and are stuck between Costa Teguise vs Puerto del Carmen (or Los Pocillos/Matagorda area).

What we’re looking for:

  • Nice beaches nearby for proper lazy days
  • A good seaside atmosphere (not dead, but not party-heavy either)
  • Places to eat/drink right by the sea with nice sea view (mainly restaurants, not nightlife-focused)
  • Romantic vibe: sunset walks, sitting by the ocean, nice promenade atmosphere
  • A base that works well for exploring the island by car (which means we don't mind if an area is like 10-20 min further away from most attractions)
  • Perhaps not too windy to the point it's uncomfortable and we have to hold everything down at the beach

We don’t care about nightlife in the sense of clubs or bar-heavy areas, but we also don’t want somewhere too quiet where evenings feel empty or limited - some comments suggest that Costa Teguise caters to that, being a good destination for elderly people.

This also means we wouldn't want to be somewhere where it's super noisy all the time due to clubs, bars etc. I saw some comments saying PdC is exactly that - a lot of bars and noise.

We’re basically trying to find the best balance of: relaxed seaside holiday atmosphere + good food + beach access + some life around us, without it being a party resort.

Would appreciate any recs. Thanks.
