Lew Drass…

Lew Drass is dilusional…after listening to his Next Gen podcast episode. Especially the first couple questions. Completely side stepped the shorter steps questions and talked about higher pay and sick leave for CCA’s as if he was answering a different question. As the episode went on and he answered more questions it’s evident he’s knowledgeable but delusional to think he can just come out of the shadows and be relevant again. Talked about being the best negotiator as if we haven’t heard that before. He might be…but that’s not something I would campaign on after the stain Renfroe put on that disclaimer.

First wok …

Picked up a Fresh Chinatown market at a reasonable price. Lightweight, non teflon carbon steal I presume. I don’t believe it’s aluminum unless I’m mistaken.
Handle looks like its missing something thought they were all like that. I looked to see if they sold a separated wooden insert but didn’t see anything, I also asked.
Now for the seasoning…

How it started / How it’s going …

Hard pruned towards the end of February.

Also changed to a lower & wider Terra cotta planter. The colorful ceramic planter allowed for the soil substrate to stay wet longer.

Hard prune progress …

the 2 with the blue planter we’re pruned at the end of February. The Terra cotta planter was pruned beginning of May. I’d say they’re coming along nicely. When I first posted the hard pruned people in the comments were asking why I would do such a thing 😅

Started with drainage holes on the large planter. Look at that beautiful caudex that was buried in all organic soil. Trimmed the roots on the caudex and was able to raise it quite a bit. Also added bark, pearlite and pea gravel to the soil. Last but not least pruned the leggy branches for a complete overhaul.
