There already exist kits that can change pistol carbine kits into the M7S Silohette, which could be a skin for his P10 Roni, the helmet and pack itself would be reminiscent of his silhouette, and, cmon, the Chips Dubbo reference is right there.

Without writing a paragraph about "Da Lore" and everything, the reason I don't like it is because the particular helmet he uses only exist to make him recognizable as Master Chief.
The original MkIV into the MkV looks like a plausible design evolution.
Chiefs MkIV looks like it should skip V and evolve to the MkVI.
It's clearly what they drew from when designing it in Halo Legends (which is kind of an insane thing to dig your heels in and make your foundation if I'm being honest.)
And before anyone says I'm just hating on it cause it's in CAE, I didn't like it in Forward Unto Dawn or Legends either (The Package was the worst of the anthology imo).
