How intelligent do you have to be to become a financial analyst?

My IQ is quite low and although I have a degree, I simply have a tough time remembering all the formulas used when you are a financial analyst. I struggle with exams and I’m annoyed that I keep failing simply financial analyst exams. I hate that I’m most likely going to be poor forever because I’m so mentally cooked.

Does your salary make you feel like you aren’t good enough?

I just saw an instagram comment on a post about a dude making food. Some lady commented that her husband “is a biotech hedge fund manager, an Ivy League graduate, an athlete, musician, and a world traveler who also is multi lingual.”

Obviously, this could very well be fake. It’s more so the fact that people like that exist. They were born significantly genetically superior to others and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I’m here struggling to make $50k/year and there are people who make millions from their above average IQ. I don’t see a point in living given how life is this unfair.

I know everyone is simply going to say “we are all equal - don’t feel that way!”, but evidently, we are not all equal. Some people are clearly more superior than others. Some people have a higher IQ, are taller, are more physically attractive, more athletic, etc while the rest of us have to suffer being average at best. It’s why I have to set my goals so low. I have goals such as “get to the office on time” or “go to the gym”. I want much larger goals, like “I want to be VP at my company in three years” or “I want to own a hedge fund in the next five years”, but I’m limited to my genetic potential. I hate that I’m considered a useless DEI hire whose only aspiration is to make $65k a year at best.
