Thursday Night Live

Hello! I've always heard about Thursday Night live in downtown Lexington but have never been and have wanted to go to see what it is like!

Can you guys share your experiences with me?

I am a 26 year old woman and would be going by myself. Is that safe? Would I have a good time? I used to drink when going to social events but I am trying to learn how to socialize and have a good time while being sober. I've seen some food vendors online and wondering if the whole experience costs a lot?

Hello all!

I’ve lived in Lexington and worked here on and off for about half my life. I’m a 26 year old woman and outside of work and going home, I don’t really have much of a social life. I haven’t done much “putting myself out there” since I was about 21 but I’m trying to change that now by meeting new people and enjoying new experiences. I'm just tired of only working and never making any memories for myself or stories to tell.

I really LOVE 80’s music and the whole aesthetic and vibe around it. I used to really love death metal / emo music and mostly only ever went to those type of shows, but I've grown up around 80s music and have mostly listened to that the last few years. I’ve been to The Burl a few times over the past several years (mostly for EMO NITE) and really enjoyed the atmosphere there. I know they’ve done 80’s nights before, but I always seem to miss them.

I’ve been curious about Radio Star 80s Lounge Bar and wanting to see what others think of the place. Does it have that 80s vibe to it and what kind of crowd usually goes there? I'm cool with somewhat crowded / busy bars (though i prefer move chill dive bars or just less chaotic hangouts) but I was never a fan of places like the ROXY and Staggered INN. I can be a little awkward at first sometimes, but I warm up quickly and I’m pretty silly and quirky once I’m comfortable, so it’s not too hard for me to meet people.

Also wondering if there are any other spots in Lexington with a similar 80’s / throwback vibe, or just generally cool relaxed places to hang out and meet people! (just some insight I am sort of alternative, so I'm not big on the college girl / frat scene type of vibe).
