Company is pushing for AI notes…

I work private practice peds and recently my company has been REALLY pushing AI use. I’m very anti-AI in every facet because:
-environmental factors
-social and mental health factors
-I went to college for 6 years if I can’t write an email by myself tf am I doing trying to treat language disorders

My coworkers know I’m very anti-AI. I used it as a joke way back in the day but once I learned how bad for everything it is, I stopped and I haven’t used it since. Most of my coworkers who are PTs and OTs use the AI systems. They’re also asking Chat and Gemini for mundane tasks. Honestly seems like more work than it’s worth to me, I don’t really struggle writing my notes or keeping up but I’ve come up with a system that works well for me.

I’ve reached out to the manager who keeps sending these emails stating as such. I don’t need the AI, therefore I don’t use it.

The tool is supposed to record our sessions and write up notes from what it records. I don’t…like that? It feels very surveillance-y to me. Also not very HIPPA-y compliant. But that’s me who’s very anti-surveillance anyway lmao.

Am I the crazy one?? I’m still not going to use it until they put it in writing we have to use it and I feel insane for even going this far.

Ablenet software recs?

In my second year in peds PP with a high (I’m talking like 70%) population of low vocal autistic kids. I have several that need AAC and my company currently uses AbleNet. I’ve had experience with TD, and a tiiiiiny but with PLQ, but I don’t have much outside of that. TD Snap I’m most familiar with, and I had really good success with a few kids using it functionally (with lots of training).

Does anyone have any good ideas on softwares to start with on devices? Stick to what I know or try something new? Obviously I’ll adjust as kiddo needs, but if anyone knows a good springboard I’d be happy to use it!! TYIA!!

Good standalone tablet?

I have the huion (I think 13 inch?) tablet, and I really really like it but I really want a tablet that can run Krita and I can take places. I know Huion has a smaller standalone tablet, but does anyone else have experience with other brands? Any recommendations?

Tangible/raised AAC?

Hi! Peds SLP here, I have some kids who have muscle weakness/apraxia going on. One kiddo would really benefit from AAC, but we have a really hard time using a flat surface AAC device. I’ve had toys around the room, and we will grab them or point to a color if we want something specific. I’ve thought about tobii-dynavox with a key guard but does anyone else have any recommendations? I would really appreciate it!!

Sockeye salmon are worth 12.50 a pop, it’s pretty quiet here, so not much grueling to be had. Watch out for wolves and bears!! The grizzlies tend to pop up on the side opposite the old veteran’s house.

If you see some guy in a silly blue hat with a horse named Play Dough over that way feel free to say hello! I’m usually over there grinding.
