Sister got in accident 4 years ago in her car in a different state, but it still affects my insurance rates?

How is this a thing? Do most people know about this?

The accident happened 4 years ago. My dad added her to my policy. She doesn't have access to my car, and lived in a different state during the accident. Is there no way in removing this so it doesn't affect me?

I haven't been in an accident or made a claim in 10+ years. I'm a good driver, and rarely even drive. Seems unfair.

ETA: SORRY, I wasn't clear on some details here. She has been off my policy for the last couple of years. My concern is with applying for a new policy, they are saying I had an accident in 2022, which I didn't, my sister did. I had no clue it would affect ME on a new policy with a new company years down the road.
