Storing keys away from car?
In reading about the 12V battery issue I occasionally I see a comment about storing wireless keys away from the car but not a lot of details about why. I'm wondering if this is a red herring that came up before the DCM issue was identified, or if there is another real issue. Can this cause issues with the Trailseeker?
When I'm home I'm in the habit of keeping my car unlocked and keys in the car. I know there are lots of other solutions for not losing your keys, and (respectfully), I'm not asking for advice on those in this thread. I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether doing this with a Trailseeker would cause a problem. It has worked with the wireless key of my Forester for 10 years, but it looks like a lot of the key technology comes from Toyota now.
