Roadie Farewell - a poem to “Ruddie”
Roses are red,
The payouts are trash,
I used to take Roadies,
Now I’m chasing real cash.
Kev and K-Dog, you know the routine,
Refreshing that screen for a payout obscene.
Clean Cut Chris scans always wearing his vest,
While Roadie’s offering $62 for a trip through the depths.
Fashionable Chris pulls up and scans looking fly,
Meanwhile we’re calculating if the gas bill is why.
Twenty miles driving for a payout so small,
At this point, I think Roadie wants us paying them all. 😂
We battled the traffic, the pickups, the wait,
The “customer unavailable” and orders running late.
We loaded, we drove, we delivered with pride,
While Roadie said, “Here’s $67 a block enjoy the ride.” 💀
But my fellow drivers, the time has arrived—
I’m officially done. I’m leaving this ride.
No more staring at offers that make me say,
“Is this a delivery… or way less than minimum wage?”
So Kevin, K-Dog, Chad and Chris,
Keep fighting the fight, but I’m done with this.
May your routes be short and your payouts be fat,
And may Roadie one day figure out where the money’s at.
It’s been real, Roadies. It’s been fun.
But when the pay gets this bad… I’m DONE. 😂✌️🚗💨
