I got the new rustler vx3 and love it. overheats less than the old one though it still gets a bit hot. so i try to be careful. anyways, i just ran it and after i got done i noticed this play in the steering. not sure if it came like that and im not sure how to fix it. any tips?
i tried pretty much everything everyone told me to try, it has 45 pounds of fuel pressure and it holds solid, all 8 injectors are firing, i listened to them with an automotive stethoscope. the distributor cap looks good nothing alarming there. i checked the firing order and that is good. all the spark plugs and wires are brand new, no clogs in the fuel lines, fuel filter pump sending unit and tank are new. i checked for bad grounds, i even tried making a new one (that’s what that red wire is) new alternator, battery is not even a year old. i checked the codes and it gave me 33, 34, and 42 which was interesting so i checked the ecm because my other firebird had ecm problems. i found a messed up wire that the previous owner messed with and i fixed it and hoped the problem would go away now but it didn’t infact it might be worse. i have gone through pretty much all the wiring and everything seems normal. the ignition timing is right on the money. i dont know what im missing, i probably didnt put everything i did to this car im probably forgetting something. Please if you have any idea let me know. it threw code 34 again the second i put the ecm back in and tried to start it. but i really don’t think a bad maf sensor would cause this car to run as bad as it does. i’ll give a better description than my first post since idk if anyone watched the video i attached to it. to put it simply it starts kinda, it idles but it is misfiring badly whole car is shaking. doesn’t want to rev sometimes it does a little but other times it dies. did my best to clean the injectors the best i could thinking they were clogged and it made no difference. they’re all firing so i dont think it is them. honestly my only thought is the ecm because i went through 3 of them in my other bird. but if anyone else has anything i should check please tell me im lost.
I’m trying to get my new to me 86 trans am running. But it runs like hot garbage right now and i’m unsure why. it sat since 96 so i so far have replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump and sending unit, fuel lines, spark plugs and wires, i checked the distributor cap and everything looks good, i cleaned the injectors a bit, all 8 are firing, the base timing is at 8 degrees advanced so that shouldn’t be it, there’s no check engine light, no vacuum leaks that i could find. the battery and alternator are also pretty much brand new. i know for my other one a bad battery caused a bunch of issues but this one isn’t even a year old. what else could be causing this?
