A story of fragile egos, broken commitments, and petty management of THE PATHWAY UPSC !

Hi everyone,

I am writing this post to share a recent experience with an online coaching initiative called Pathway UPSC, run by Aman Singh and Rupali Singh. As students preparing for highly competitive exams (CDS, CAPF, AFCAT), our time, money, and mental peace are incredibly valuable. I am sharing my story with exact facts and screenshots so that other aspirants can save themselves from falling into this trap.

The background: Paid service, not a favour.

I wasn't a new or random student in their batch; over time, I have purchased a total of three separate courses from them. My recent enrollments included their Science Notes package for ₹300, a CAPF Paper 2 Course for ₹499, and a separate Test Series for ₹600. Like many of you, I trusted them based on their YouTube content. However, delays became a regular feature.

On May 15th, our Biology notes were delayed for the third consecutive time. When I raised this in the group chat, pointing out that schedules should mean something, another student told me to "chill." I firmly responded that this isn’t about chilling; it's about a commitment.

The faculty, Aman Singh, joined the chat and tried to tone-police me, saying "Aryan, mind your language." I simply asked where my language went wrong and reminded them that this is a paid service, not a favor.

The Escalation: Fragile Egos over Professionalism

Instead of addressing the delay logically, the co-founder, Rupali Singh, entered the group chat with a massive ego. She made a dramatic public announcement claiming that I was being "disrespectful to Sir" (which I wasn't; I was just holding them accountable). She publicly declared:

"We are removing you from all our initiatives and will refund the payment for all the batches you are a part of, EXCEPT the Science Notes. If there is any further delay, I will personally refund the entire Science Notes package."

She kicked me out of the main group to save face in front of other students so nobody else would question their delays.

The Behind-the-Scenes Hypocrisy and Broken Promises

Right after the public drama, Aman Singh (the owner) messaged me privately. His tone was completely different from his public persona. He literally texted me: "Aryan don't worry aapko disrespect nhi krenge. We have not fulfilled our commitments then we should pay you back." He processed a refund for the ₹499 Paper 2 course and explicitly promised me: "Biology notes will be given to you here. Don't worry."

But that promise didn't even last a few hours.

Later that night, he completely backtracked. He messaged me saying they had decided not to provide the Biology notes after all, and sent a random, selective refund of ₹100 to rafa-dafa the matter, claiming the Physics and Chemistry notes I already received were worth ₹149 each.

I exposed their hypocrisy instantly. I dropped the screenshot of Rupali’s public group message where she clearly stated they would refund the entire package if the notes were delayed. I told them: "Read your own team member's words." When he couldn't defend their own contradictions, he tried to shift the blame by making vague insinuations about piracy and hit me with a patronizing lecture: "Not everything is about money baccha. Sometimes it's about self respect." I gave him a direct mic-drop: "I was only being logical, it was you who came and started moral policing without any substantial mistake of mine!" He had no answer and just replied "Okay."

The Actual Fraud: Fabricating Records to Deduct Money

The real scam started the next morning. I woke up to find that they had also unilaterally kicked me out of my completely separate Test Series (which I paid ₹600 for), without my consent.

When I demanded my money back for the test series, Aman Singh sent me a partial refund of ₹329 and blocked me.

When I confronted Rupali Singh about this partial refund, she claimed: "You have attempted 12 tests, so we deducted the price of 10 tests and returned the rest."

Here is the catch: I hadn't attempted a single test yet. I was saving them to attempt closer to the exam date.

I caught her red-handed in her lie and gave her a direct challenge: "Show me my attempt record on your portal, and I will pay you 600 more."

She had absolutely no data or record to show because she was flat-out lying. Realizing she was caught, she immediately stopped talking about technical records and shifted to the classic emotional manipulation card: "We wouldn't keep your money as it is the hard-earned money of your parents... We hope for your growth."

Forcing Accountability

I didn't let her play the victim card. I told her: "You have to understand the difference between being disrespectful and being logical/practical. Hard-earned money hai tabhi toh poore maang rha hu."

I cornered her completely. I demanded that if they are going to arbitrarily keep my ₹271 from the test series on the false claim of me accessing 10 tests, they need to hand over the PDFs and detailed answer keys for those tests immediately. Trapped by her own logic, she finally crumbled and said: "Sure. No worries. We will give it to you along with the detailed answer pdf... Sharing the PDFs as soon as possible."

Why I am posting this:

  1. To expose the "Guru" facade: These online platforms preach morality, "self-respect," and "growth" in public, but behind the scenes, they run an unprofessional operation, break their own promises, lie about student data to deduct money, and block a loyal customer when they get caught.

  2. You are a customer, not a beggar: Do not let these coaching institutes make you feel guilty for demanding the service you paid your hard-earned money for.

  3. Unilateral Cancellations: If a coaching platform kicks you out because their ego hurt, they have no right to charge you retail or pro-rata rates for services they broke off.

Stay vigilant, guys. Prepare hard, but choose your mentors wisely. Don't invest your money where logic is treated as "disrespect" and management resorts to lying to swipe your money.

I HAVE USED AI TO ARTICULATE THINGS IN A BETTER WAY, ALSO I AM GIVING PROVES IN THE COMMENTS SECTION.
