city council needs to start on time and stop cancelling committee meetings
Let's put pressure on City Council to start meetings on time and stop cancelling committee meetings. Many Pasadena residents have had the experience of going to a City Council meeting and waiting and waiting and waiting for it to start. Pasadena City Council meetings typically start late - an average of 30 minutes late in 2026, while most other cities in Los Angeles County start on time or just a few minutes late. Too many Pasadena City Council Committee meetings are also cancelled due to a lack of quorum. Just this past month the Municipal Services Committee meeting was canceled just minutes before the start time. The August Public Safety Committee meeting was also canceled, frustrating the many people who had planned to attend because Flock cameras were on the agenda. This was after other meetings with Flock on the agenda were also canceled or adjourned early due to a loss of quorum. The July Housing, Homeless and Planning meeting was also canceled at the last minute. Next week there's an agenda item (#12) that is relevant to meeting start times. Please send an email asking them to figure out a way to be like most other cities and start on time. You can use this pre-filled template.
