Littleton housing authority seeks $1M for Starlight project amid funding gap

Starlight Apartments in Littleton will house people making between 30% and 70% of the Area Median Income and will include 72 units in four stories — 11 studio apartments, 46 one-bedroom units and 15 two-bedroom units.
The housing authority is asking for $1 million from the city's inclusionary housing ordinance (IHO) to fund the gap of rising construction costs.

Arapahoe County launches short-term rental licensing program

Arapahoe County’s new short-term rental ordinance is officially moving forward, and it’s going to change things for Airbnb hosts in unincorporated areas. The new program includes a $200 application fee, a $350 annual fee, a 500-foot separation rule, and a requirement that most hosts live in the property as their primary residence unless they qualify for a legacy exemption, among other requirements.
The county says the goal is to cut down on parking issues, noise, and clustering of rentals in the same neighborhood. But some residents and hosts think the rules go too far, especially the spacing requirement and the quick-response local agent rule.
