Wanna see something cool?… (Show&Tell)

Hiya, folks…and Happy 4th, of July!!

Been working on my Black & White rig, and I’m pretty close to where I want to be, with it… so I thought I’d share.
I am not looking for validation. I don’t get the The whole, “Rate my setup.”, or, What should I put here?”, thing. I designed this rig for the house that I live in, for the room that I game in, in a manor that works for Me. I also don’t mean to marginalize those, who do. It’s what you do, where you are, with what you have, that counts. I personally, happen to really enjoy changing my setup around, hunting down cool parts to accomplish My design philosophy, (thus, the Black&White aesthetic), getting the cable management right, jailbreaking, modding consoles and controllers, etc, etc.
Now, that that’s outta the way… A quick rundown:
A Switch, a SwitchLite,( with a White on white re-shell), a PS4 Pro,(with 8Tb exteral HDD), a PSVita,(jailbroken), a NucBox G2+,(mini pc for Steam and RetroArch), a GameCube,( with a Nixy Wizard2, and, another “WaveBird” style, wireless controller), an XBox Series S,( with 4Tb external HDD, and a 2Tb memory expansion card), and a GameBoy Advance SP,( future project), an Anbernic RG-556,(running Steam, and RetroArch for everything from SNES, up to the PS2), and a headsets and stands,( for the PS4 and the XBox Series S). All the systems that have a multiplayer games, have at least 2 controllers,( one Black, 1 White).
Future project: A White on White re-shell, upgraded screen, button kit,new charging cord and a flash cart, for the GBA SP. And a white shell for the GameCube.

Have a great weekend. 🤓😎

P.S. I’m redoing the living room, as well, so pictures aren’t centered, paint samples on the walls, etc.

I did a thing. Thought it was cool. Thought I’d “Show & Tell”…. 🥴

My rig has a bunch of stuff going on, but wanted to “calm the chaos”. So I went for kind of a “timeless” look. The consoles, controllers and accessories are all Black on Black, or White on white. I wanted to keep the lighting simple, so I limited the use of RGB. This particular post is about what I did, with my Xbox… so, here goes:
For my Series S, I got ExtremeRate’s Soft-Click Kits and new D-pad contacts for both controllers. I also got their respective, colored, button kits,(to get rid of the child-like candy colored ones). And to eliminate having to change out AA batteries, I purchased rechargeable packs. They come as a 2 pk, and make the controllers look pregnant, but they rock.
Last, but not least. I couldn’t just have my console look like 35 million other units, so I got some colored film discs, for the controllers and console.
I did it. I like it. Thought I’d share. Have a great day. 🤓😎

Happy Friday!! Wanna see something cool?

Ok, guys…I’m NOT posting this for “likes”, or “rate my setup”, or “guess my age, based on my setup”,(that one never made sense, to me.)… It’s just a share. I’ve taken A LOT of, inspiration and design goals, from the posts, on here. I just thought I’d share where I started from, and where my rig is now… The Rig’s life began years and years ago, adding a piece here and there, as budget permitted,(Someone once accused my of “showing how much money I have”. That’s categorically untrue. I put things, “on the back burner”, to make this happen)… So, without further ado… - in my best Joker voice, “Here… we..go.”

The design philosophy:
1- all consoles and handhelds in a central location, away from the TV,(60” Vizio).
2- all consoles, handhelds and controllers will be Black or White, (to include buttons, triggers, etc, where possible.).
3- all consoles, handhelds and controllers are powered up and ready to rock, (pick up a controller, or handheld, and stay a while.).
4- NO visible cables,(super clean install.).
5- All games are digital, whenever possible,(keeps the need for physical storage to a minimum).

The “Rundown”:
-PS4 Pro: Avolusion 8 TB external HDD. Valorise headset.Black on Black controller.
-XBox Series S: 2TB memory expansion card. Avolusion 4TB external HDD,(for XBox and XBox 360 games). RYR headset. 1 Black on Black original controller & 1 White on White original controller,( both have Extreme rate’s soft click button/ D-pad mods). I also changed the color of “Home” button, on the controllers and the console.
-Nintendo GameCube. Hyperkin HDMI converter paired to Marsaille M Classic upscaler. Nyxi Wizard2,(White). Saffun 2.4 GHz wireless controller,(Black).
-PSVita 1000, jailbroken.
(Plays all Vita, PSP and PS1 games).
-Nintendo Switch. White on White FunLab controller. Black on Black FunLab Dave the Diver controller. Hori Mario controller.
-Nintendo SwitchLite,(in the middle of a White on White re-shell). (Works with Switch controllers).
-NUCBox G2+,(mini PC). Steam Portal. RetroArch windows. Aftermarket controller.
-Anbernic RG556.(Plays every Major system, from the SNES generation, all the way up to PS2/Wii generation.
-Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP. Old Flash cart. Needs modding,(re-shell. updated screen. new buttons. new flash cart, etc)
-The stand is modified. I drilled a couple of big holes, in the back of a couple of the drawers, to run all the cables and cords into. I call it, “The Man Behind the Curtain”.
Future plans include:
-a 2TB SSD for the PS4 Pro.
-adding an E.O.N. MkII to video chain from GameCube.
-a WiiU.(also running through video chain for GameCube).
-the new SteamMachine,(depending on reviews and user feedback).
-future “Next Gen” console, or Handheld.
- a much bigger TV,(thinking 80”-85”) I’ll always chase down a better graphics display.

Anyways… That’s my rig. Thanks for lookin’. Have a Great weekend! 🤓😎

A spinner controller and a question. 🧐

Ok… My absolute, favorite video game, is one I’ve been playing since I could reach the controls, and push a quarter in to the machine… Tempest! I’ve owned it on every console I’ve ever had,(It’s available for just about everything.) The problem is, that the home consoles didn’t have a spinner. Not a paddle,(they go “lock to lock”, where a spinner spins with no “lock”. The D-pad and Thumb stick setups, are horrible to use… Enter Steam. They had another copy of the game, and the controller customization, need to play. I found an infinite spinner. It’s an I-code Ultimate. I can get into all the settings but I can’t seem to get it “dialed in”,(pun intended). The option to assign the rotation axis, Horiz or Vert, adjust the dpi up to 600/sec, assign mouse/keyboard/ gamepad, and button assignment, are all adjustable, but I just can’t seem to get everybody to party together… Playing Tempest, on my 60”, in my big comfy chair, using the right controller, is my “Holy Grail” quest,(the controller was much as a couple of New games). If ANYONE has any guru-type knowledge/wisdom, to impart, or know of a useable resource, It would be greatly appreciated. “Please help us, Obi-Wan, you’re our only hope.” 🤓😎
