Thank you steam cloud.
I love you Gaben
So, I had very low space on my pc recently, and before going for any application such as TreeSize, my dumb butt went ahead and booked it straight to my user data. Now while I thought I had just highlighted a few small items in my user file, as it turns out I highlighted EVERYTHING in my user file. before even thinking or double taking to see everything is gone, I go ahead and click "empty recycling bin". Now my pc doesn't contain many files I really care about, but I was mostly worried about one thing, my God of War 2018 save file. Now I have played the older GOW games, but I haven't gotten into any of the newer ones. I had already gotten pretty far into the game (about 5 hours), and when I saw the brightness calibration pop up my heart sank all the way down to the depths of Helheim. When I exited out of the game, I felt lost, sick even... but then I saw it, "steam cloud error". My steam cloud was conflicting with my game file, and after requesting to use my cloud save instead of my local save, it had restored my save file. I was so happy that I created a reddit account to use for this one purpose just to thank steam in any way I can.
What game did you put aside because you didn't like it, but when you picked it up again a few years later, you realized it was actually great?
