NEW ALL-TIME PEAK: 43.5 Million Concurrent Users!
The previous peak was 6 months ago at 42.686 Million So nearly 800 000 more than before.
It was also an ingame peak with 14.46 Million Users which is up from 13.8 Million. (Also 6 months ago)

This is more than even when the Oblivion remaster launched (which was the previous all time record) with 374 000.
Any idea what caused this?
We have now had 110 days of daily mod downloads being above 100k!
Morrowind modding is booming! There are on average 2x as many mods released per week for Morrowind than for Starfield (90 vs 45) and Morrowind is closing in on Fallout NV in weekly mods.
And all of that 24 years after the original release of Morrowind!
This is the 30-day rolling average of Mods uploaded to Nexus, from 2004 to today.
Big Boosts are marked by the corresponding game releases.
Wabbajack and Collections (aka mod list support) are the main cause behind the steady rise post 2020.
The first time the 30-day average crossed 200 mods per day was 2022-07-08 (so after 18+ years of the site existing) the last time the average was below 200 was 2023-01-03 just 6 months later, and we have now been consistently above 400 a day for 6 months now.

Their reasoning is that the guy behind SteamDB cannot continue to run this website as a one man show.
And the opportunity they see is that SteamDB great tool to track game versions which could be useful for Game modding for Mods that are Game version dependent.
I really like both websites, but I don't know about more and more Websites being owned by the same people.
I like both because they are some of the best sites for Statistics (which is a big hobby of mine and why most of my posts are in some way statistics related) But I don't really see the synergy. I am hopefull for an expanded SteamDB website now that the site gets maintained by more than just 1 person, but I wonder if this will actually improve SteamDB for the user site, since I don't see how SteamDB makes any money in the first place.

Fittingly it has been 25 years since launch. But most downloads have happened very recently:
Only 2 years ago they just hit 10 Billion https://www.nexusmods.com/news/14936, so growth has been massive these last 2 years. (15 Billion downloads in just 2 years)
Unique downloads are at 10.3 Billion so an average Nexus mod gets downloaded 2.5 times.
Interestingly Skyrim SE is only 42% of all UDL downloads, so Skyrim SE mods get downloaded more often than by the same person than mods from other games.
Nexusmods has finally hit 25 Billion total mod downloads!

wSkeever has hit 75 million UDLs! https://www.nexusmods.com/profile/wSkeever
He achieved this only 1 year after he hit 50 million: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/1kqnugp/first_mod_author_has_surpassed_50_million_unique/
Crazy achievement, and thank you for the great mods!
PS: wSkeever has created 25 new mods since then. However most of his new UDLs come from his existing mods getting more downloads than from his new mods. (His new mods since May 2025 contribute ~2 million UDLs)
All those downloads are spread across 22 600 mods from 6700 Mod Authors.
Cyberpunk has reached 1.5 Billion downloads faster than any other Nexus game! (In just 5.5 years, Syrim SE was at 1.4 Billion at that point and Fallout 4 was at 0.8 Billion)
Cyberpunk currently also has the most modding traffic on Nexus after Skyrim SE. Usually driving ~2x as many downloads per day than Fallout 4.
Over half - 5.1 Billion are for Skyrim alone (4.25 Skyrim SE and 0.85 for Oldrim)
All BGS titles combined are 6.7 Billion.
So nearly 70% of all UDL traffic are BGS titles!
200 million downloads spread across 17 100 mods from 8000 different mod Authors and 4.7 million endorsements.
Interestingly all Fallout 3 mods combined only need 1.3 Terabytes of space.
Over 18.5 thousand mods by 4388 different mod Authors. And all of that in only 3 years!
On Sunday 3.6 million downloads happened in a single day. (Previous record was 3.3 million from 19th July 2025)
And last week the total downloads were 18.2 million also a new all-time record! (Previous was 17.6 million from December 2025)
Any Idea why this happened?

Based on Unique DownLoads aka UDLs (how many different accounts downloaded the same mod, redownloads do not count)
Top 1000
Top 100
Notably MihailMods is the 5th biggest ModAuthor on the entire Platform (based on UDLs) but has 0 mods in the top 1000 most Downloaded or endorsed mods.
You need more than 622 000 UDLs on a single mod to make it into the top 1000 most downloaded mods.
To land in the Top 1000 most endorsed mods a mod must have at least 9790 endorsements, but the lowest endorsed mod in the Top 1000 most UDLs has only 1800 endorsements. This would place the mod at 6800th in endorsements.
139 MAs have more than 1 Mod in the Top 1000.
Interestingly even though SE now has 5x as many UDLs as Oldrim, Oldrim SkyUI is still the mod with the most UDLs of any BGS mod at 6.879 Million UDLs. (Stardew Valley has 2 mods with even more UDLs, so the Nexus wide crown in this metric doesn't belong to Skyrim anymore)
There are only 22 mods for Skyrim SE with 0 Downloads.
Over 4 Million additional downloads per day! Which means roughly 30% of all Skyrim SE traffic in the last few days was from Lorerim 5.0 Downloads.

Top 1000
Top 100
There are 79 different Authors in the Top 100, and 513 in the Top 1000. A mod currently need 9790 or more endorsements to appear in the Top 1000.
There are 147 Mod Authors with 2 or more mods in the Top 1000.
In Total there are 28085 Mod Authors on Nexus.
I cannot find any reason in the rules, so I thought I ask this way.
This is new mods NOT counting Translations! Now have even surpassed the previous peak of 2012.
Caveats:
So the actual amount of genuinely new/good mods is still not at Skyrim release levels, but we are finally getting closer.
Skyrim SE has now hit 4 Billion Unique Downloads on Nexus!

Crazy milestone!
