Need apartment advice from locals!
My girlfriend (22) and I (21) are moving to the Dallas area in the next couple of months and could use some local advice on our search for an apartment.
Our budget is around $1,200/month (not including utilities) for a one-bedroom or larger studio, though we’re willing to stretch a bit for the right place. So far we’ve been looking primarily in Richardson, Addison, and Old East Dallas, as we’re trying to stay central and near uptown/downtown, but we’re open to other areas if they fit our budget and priorities. We just aren’t yet familiar enough with the area to know what we might be missing.
Our biggest priorities are:
Responsive and well managed apartment community
Safe Area where we’d feel comfortable walking around in the evening.
Walking distance or short drive to great restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do.
(Commute is a non factor for us)
