WARNING if you cancel your account mid-cycle
Just putting this out there for other people so they don't get a surprise bill like I did! I canceled my T-mobile account on April 1, not realizing that I would be charged through the end of the "cycle" April 20. And that rate (for me) was $2 a day, which means $43 for a service I canceled. I expected to pay through April 1, didn't realize I should have waited a couple more weeks.
Yes, I realize I should have double-checked the terms of my service. That one is on me. But when you find out your husband is losing his job and you're scrambling to cancel all extra costs, you forget that month-to-month "cancel any time" doesn't mean service ends when you ask for it. That's an extra $40 out of our budget for the month that we can't spare. It's very disheartening to go pay a credit card bill and realize the money is gone, you're not getting it back, and now the budget needs to be re-balanced to find that money somewhere.
