Hi all,

Not a plumber, just a completely clueless home owner.

I found water under the sink, checked and the drain basket assembly tail pipe (?) had rotted and snapped.

I have a pipe wrench. The whole thing spins when turned. Needle nose pliers don't hold it.

Do I need a "drain basket wrench"?

(The bottom pipe, the pot metal has since snapped off, leaving only that thin bit to use a wrench on)

Since is probably 20-30 years old.
