23M, new to dating apps in Singapore is this experience normal?
I’m 23M and moved to Singapore about a year ago for my Master’s, which I’ve recently finished. Before that, I worked for around two years, and I’m currently interning here.
I’ve never really dated before. I was focused on studies and work and never met someone I was interested enough in to pursue seriously. About a month ago, I decided to give dating apps a try for the first time.
I take care of myself, work out, enjoy fashion, travel quite a bit and have an active lifestyle. I’ve also put genuine effort into choosing good photos and prompts for my profiles.
The thing is, I’m fairly selective about who I like. I’ve had a few matches so far, but most either don’t reply or the conversation eventually dies. The people I’m particularly interested in rarely seem to match with me.
For other guys around my age in Singapore, is this pretty normal when you’re new to dating apps? Does being selective make it significantly harder?
I’m also Indian, so I’m curious about the experiences of other Indian guys or interracial daters here. Have you found ethnicity affects your matches much, or is it mostly down to individual preferences and your profile?
Just trying to understand the dating scene here since all of this is pretty new to me. need your advice guys!
