Got this glen Campbell tape at value village

I picked up this Sears portable 8track player/radio for $13.

It plays fine 75% of the time. But the other 25% of the time I put a tape in and the motor doesnt spin. No noise or anything. Weirdly, if I turn the unit upside down (from the position it was previoisly sitting in) and put a tape into it, it will play 99% of the time.

After that trick stopped working I took it appart. It looks like the motor is completely unserviceable, as it says on the back.

I am able to just barely get a screwdriver in to push the wheel attached to the motor to make it move. Doing this made the motor move....once...and didnt work any of the other times I tried it.

Sometimes it wont work and then 30 minutes later ill try again and it will start right up.

The lights, speakers and everything else are always working, its just the motor that doesnt always work.

Any suggestions?

Ive been starting to buy more as of late because they are a fun way to enjoy physical media without having to pay vinyl prices.

Anyone else here collect them?
