This feels so TMI typing this out on reddit but I have nowhere else to turn to. Last night, I let my boyfriend fuck my throat. Now, I have a really sore throat and it hurts to swallow or speak. Can I do anything to alleviate it or do I just have to firm it?
I have recently started a work experience scheme in B&M which I was placed on from the people in the job centre. My main issue is that it is bordering on exploitation. I am set to work 16 hours a week over the next month with 4 shifts per week. Based on the minimum wage for someone my age, that would work out to £694.40 of free labour which is more than double what I am getting from Universal Credit. Not only is it unpaid, there is no guaranteed job at the end just a reference from B&M and extra consideration if they had any job opportunities available in the future.
I did my first shift today and I think it set in how ridiculous this seems to me. In the initial meeting where I signed up for it, I was told that I would have someone to shadow throughout. In actuality, the woman I was shadowing while stocking ended up being called to the warehouse in the back for about 2 hours and I was left alone with no idea where to put things or how to answer any customer questions.
I had no problems actually doing the work but I am struggling to get over the fact that I will be doing an unpaid part time job for the next month. It is not like I have no experience since I have been volunteering at a primary school since I dropped out of university in April and I would much rather increase my hours there than do this.
Has anyone else been on one of these schemes and what it like for you?
