On my way to build my first pedal

On my way to build my first pedal

Hey guys,

So.. I'm pretty new to building pedals and I know a little soldering. I found this schematic (linear power boost). If I get all the parts, enclosure and a stripboard, I should be able to build this, right? But where do I put the input and output jacks? And what about the 9V input? Is there something in the schematic I'm missing?

How to choose and set up amp and cab?

Hey y'all

For a long time, I've been using a solid state 150w blackstar id core, but lately, as I've experimented with borrowed tube amps, I found out I prefer the tube sound much more than the solid state one.

Since our band rehearses twice a week, I need something that isn't too much of a pain to carry and I found the vox mini super beetle, a hybrid amp that, based on some demos, gives the tone I like on tubes.

I'm moving from a family home into an apartment next year, so I thought about having the mini beetle stack at home and bringing just the amp head to a rehearsal room, where I would keep a bigger cab, for practice.

My questions are: how to pick the right cab? What impedance? Wattage? RMS? How many speakers and how big? I've never plugged an amp and cab before, I'm scared of all the numbers and terms I've yet to understand.

What I've been eyeing is a Harley Benton G212. Would this speaker and the mini beetle head work? Will it be loud enough to play in a full band? We play mostly like punkish heavy metal

Thanks for any advice, explanations of things I don't know and your time for reading this post

Wanting to start with modular. Can I do this?

Hey,

I want to start goofing around with modular and I thought about getting the basic setup of Behringer 2500 and connecting a theremin and a stylophone to the keyboard control on two different Behringer 2500 oscillator modules 1004. My questions are:

As for why, me and my friend want to start making a goofy electronic music with him using a drum stylophone and a bass line generator and me on leads with a theremin and a classic stylophone. So I want to overlay the different tastes of sounds of a stylophone and a theremin.

- can I do that?

- should I have separate modules for each one (talking about Behringer 2500 line) if I want them to sound different or are the modules dual channeled?

- what can you recommend generally considering working with modular?

I'm an absolute noob, thanks for every piece of advice you give me and thanks for acquiring me in your community, I hope my questions aren't too dumb.

Thanks

Looking to replace the tantrum, thinking about the joyo UZI. I also have some space for one or two more pedals. Anything you'd recommend?
