I’m currently trying to cut and lower my body fat %. I’m around 23% right now and aiming for under 20% (no strict timeline, just being consistent).

I’ve noticed that I usually eat more calories on the weekends. During the week I’m pretty on track, but on weekends I’ll sometimes go over 2000 calories and end up feeling guilty.

My question is: does looking at your overall weekly calories actually work for staying in a deficit?

Even if my weekly total still puts me in a deficit, I keep worrying that eating more on weekends is messing up my progress or slowing things down.

For anyone who’s done a cut before—did this approach still work for you, or should I be trying to keep my calories more consistent day-to-day?
