What about the national song? Was Bengali ever considered a language to be spoken widely like Hindi? I don't think it's preserved anywhere apart from West Bengal and parts of Tripura, some parts of Odisha and Jharkhand, right (excluding BD for now)?

Are the language and culture dying because Bengalis settled in other states talk in that native language probably, right?

Why exactly is Mauryan empire only co-related with Bihar? Wasn't it spread around in Magadh?
Didn't the settlements primarily include native people of the eastern India, the language evolves from Sanskrit and moved eastwards and in genealogical population spread out in nearby region?

So technically, shouldn't that also me the ancestral history of all ethnicities around Magadh along with Biharis? Also, Magadhi Prakrit is indeed the parent language to many east Indian languages like Bengali, Assamese, right?

So, should it be only a "Bihari" identity, given that such a thing didn't exist before or can we say Mauryans were in fact the predecessors of most cultural groups of East India?

Did such an identity exist or was it a settlement back then? Settlement of some human groups?

Are Konkanis just Marathis with a different language?

I mean do Konkanis have a complete separate culture, idea, ethnic identity? Are there any biological differences? How would I know if a person is Konkani? For example, it gets tougher to find who's a Haryanvi or Punjabi at some cases (very small) but still easier than figuring out if a person by ancestry is Konkani or Marathi.

I am neither and I have seen so much similarity of surnames, or even same surnames. I want to learn about Konkani people.
