A lot of challenges with this piece, but I kept pushing through. Glad I did😊

Saw this little guy while walking the rural streets of a small village in Peru.

There was a reference image I found online but with no artist info. I found this challenging but I like how it turned out.

Throughout the years of my watercolor journey I’ve noticed that painful times in my life leads to more meaningful and intense art work. I painted this piece in a time that I thought there was no chance of light in my life. Was it not for a friend who pointed out the beauty she saw in this I wouldn’t have seen the beauty in uncertainty and pain in that certain season of my life.

This was a challenge. The water, the angles of the boat and scaling it to more than 2x’s the original size.
