Waiting for TJO… should I give up?

It’s been a month since my interview then quickly after that I got a verbal offer from the hiring manager. But no written TJO. I’m starting to lose hope. Is this normal??? Agency is CBP.

Honestly I’m thinking about just staying where I’m at because this process is taking forever. I’m a previous federal employee but with a different agency.

Getting back into federal government after a negative experience. Any hope for the future?

I resigned from my federal job in May. I was being pushed to quit by management. I don’t want to go into details but it was very upsetting to me. I am still having a hard time accepting what happened. I’ve worked other places and never had a bad experience. This federal job was a career and financial upgrade that changed my life. I was never stressed about money. I am so upset that I had to leave my federal job. I get emotional about it. I loved the mission, my colleagues weren’t horrible. The pay was amazing and benefits were good. Then it all came to an end. How can I move on?

I now work for the local government but I am underutilized. I had to take a significant pay cut and basically start over. I cry daily over this…I am so stressed about money. I’ve had some federal government interviews recently but nothing set in stone. I took the state job as I needed a paycheck. I couldn’t wait to resign so I had to take the first thing that came to me. The federal jobs I applied for require a clearance so I am at least a year out from even starting if I am offered the job.

I’m in my 30s and I should be enjoying life. I can’t stop being stressed over the situation with the old federal job and then stressed about money. I don’t have support so I am dealing with this alone. I can’t afford a therapist either.

Any suggestions? Even words of encouragement would be helpful.

Stay with state government or go back to the Feds?

I’m so torn a job I really want opened up in my home city and I have an interview coming up. Left the federal government in January with a different federal agency and got a job with the state government… pay-cut but more stability and flexibility with WFH two days per week with the state job.

The new federal government job is daily in the office.. no telework or anything. But comes with a 65% pay raise but more stress due to having to do another probationary period. It’s with DHS so I think they have more funding???

I would need a clearance again so it may be a year or so if it works out. Would you go back federal government for more money or stay state for the flexibility and stability?? I’m torn! The money would be life changing for me though.

CBP Investigative Specialist -. How fast is the hiring process?

Anyone apply to this job title the 2nd week of July and get called for an interview? It’s an 1801 position within CBP. It’s a polygraph examiner position.
