I started learning Roblox Luau about 1-2 months ago. Here’s my progress so far.
I really love games, I grew up playing roblox and always wanted to make my own.
the first month into luau, I managed to complete all of TheDevKings Luau Tutorials(Beginner, Advanced and UI) as well as some of BrawlDev’s tutorials.
i’m proud to say I no longer can just write “print(“Hello World”)” but can finally read full scripts.
I can make leaderstats and input stuff like “kills” or “coins”. I can make a shop system and use RemoteEvents/Functions,,,,
But i’d find myself stuck when it sometimes since I forgot how to use certain things like “clone()” and whatnot. I would often get frustrated cuz I can’t seem to utilise those functions without coming across several bugs. This is the reality and I know I shouldn’t beat myself up for it.
I have massive respect for all developers because this really takes so much patience.
I’m a fast learner and tend to push myself too hard with high expectations. I really want to know what advice you guys could give me on how I can learn Luau faster. Should I keep practicing small projects more? Rewrite systems to see if I can memorise them?
I would also absolutely love to hear everyone’s experiences and struggles when first learning luau and how you came over them. Looking forward to reading the responses!!
