Cox is trying to charge me fees I don’t owe
So I recently got a text from Cox confirming that I owe $180 with $70 of that being two $25 fees for a returned payments and a $20 reconnection fee from June. I had paid the June payment though in a two payment arrangement with the first payment being due on the 16th and it shows that money was taken out of my account and it even showed the confirmation number and I spoke with my bank who even confirmed there was never a returned payment from Cox and my service was never interrupted. The strangest thing is that are stating it shows the first returned payment was on June 13th when I didn’t make any payment until the 16th(the day it was due) so I’m confused and when I explained this and verified I had screenshots I just keep getting a vague runaround that I owe this money and that a ticket would be made when I mentioned I had screenshots even confirming the money was taken along with the pics confirming the due dates. I’ve never had this issue with Cox before. This sounds like a glitch or a case of mistaken info on being put on the wrong account. Can anyone advise what I can do? Should I contact the AG?
