Stranded in Cape Town after a domestic violence incident – looking for advice or help
Hi everyone,
I'm an Indian citizen currently in Cape Town, South Africa, and I'm writing this from a police station.
Earlier today, I had to leave my home after a domestic violence incident. I am safe for the moment, but I have nowhere to go tonight, very little money, and no local support network.
I've tried everything I can think of. I contacted the police, but they haven't been able to help. I also tried getting help from shelters, but they told me they don't have any space available tonight. I called the Indian Consulate's emergency number and office numbers as well, but I haven't been able to reach anyone, and the office is closed until Monday.
At this point, I'm stranded. If anyone knows of:
A safe place where I could stay temporarily,
Emergency resources I may have missed,
Short-term paid work (I build websites and provide technical support),
Or any practical advice,
I would be incredibly grateful.
If anyone would like to verify my situation before offering help, I completely understand. Please feel free to send me a direct message.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
