Hiya Pals!

I am still waiting to hear back from Cutebee regarding the broken electronics for my Oishii Kyoto kit; so I continue to distract myself with metal models.

Elves' Castle by Piececool was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The thing I enjoy most about metal models is that you can get a nice rhythm going; cut, bend, shape, twist, repeat. No side quests required to get the most visually appealing finished product....looking at you edge painting.

The one thing I need to find is a comfortable pair of led magnifying glasses. Do they exist? Or am I better off with a magnifying lamp to clamp to my table?

All recommendations welcome.

Happy Freestyle Friday!

A Bumblebee and a Ladybug

It seems I have entered my electronics curse era, as the lights on Oishii Kyoto didn't work either. I have messaged Cutebee about a replacement and am waiting to hear back.

In the meantime I have had a chance to work on these Gemsect Brooches by Piececool.

I find it rather humorous that bugs have become a part of my crafting identity, because in real life I think bugs are both icky and terrifying. 😅😭🫣

The Bee was hands down my favourite Gemsect. It has so much intricate build details, wings that made me cry both from their beauty, and tears of frustration from trying to attach the 2 sets together.

And it's body; it's gorgeous, curvaceous, brilliant body. 😍

The Ladybird was a much easier build than the Bee and the Rhinoceros Beetle. If you want a less difficult one to start with I recommend this lil guy....also even though the wings and legs are metal filigree they still give me the ick and make my hands tingle.

Happy Monday!
