I’m planning to use a GB Operator to back up my original Pokémon Yellow and Crystal cartridges. My goal is to move my original Gen 2 Pokémon into Emerald and eventually transfer them all the way to Pokémon HOME.
For anyone who’s actually done this successfully:
What exact tools did you use? (PKHeX, Poké Transporter GB, Trade Buddy, or something else?)
What was your step-by-step workflow from Gen 2 to Gen 3?
Did you use a GB Operator to dump and restore your saves?
Did PKHeX report the Pokémon as legal after the conversion?
Were you able to move them through later generations and into Pokémon HOME without any issues?
Did you have to edit anything manually, or did the conversion tool handle everything automatically?
Is there a workflow you’d recommend if the goal is to preserve the Pokémon as faithfully as possible while maximizing the chances they’ll be accepted by HOME?
I’m looking for firsthand experience from people who’ve actually completed the transfer chain. Thanks!
