Where does everyone look for guest posts or backlink exchange opportunities?

Where does everyone look for guest posts or backlink exchange opportunities? Am I the only one manually filtering sites with tools and cold-emailing webmasters? It’s incredibly time-consuming and I really need to scale up my efficiency. Any tips?

How I’m structuring my articles & backlinks for GEO

Hey everyone, I’ve been experimenting with shifting my content strategy from pure SEO to GEO for a few days now, and I wanted to share what I’ve been testing, plus ask for your thoughts on how to make this work better.

Right now, my main focus is two things:1. Writing in-depth articles tailored for AI engine readability2. Building relevant backlinks to these articles, hoping they’ll help my content get cited by LLMs and generative search tools.

The biggest change I’ve made is ditching the “traditional SEO blog structure” and rebuilding every article from scratch to be as AI-friendly as possible. Here’s what I’m doing differently:

✅ Opening with a clear, direct answerInstead of beating around the bush with fluff or “intro paragraphs,” I start every article with a 1-2 sentence TL;DR that directly answers the core user question. From what I’ve seen, AI engines pull this opening section way more often for quick citations.

✅ Structuring everything with clear, scannable sectionsI’m using simple, descriptive subheadings (not just “Introduction” or “Conclusion”) that mirror the questions users actually type into ChatGPT or search bars. For example:- “What is [topic] and why does it matter?”- “How to solve [problem] in 3 actionable steps”- “Common myths about [topic] debunked”- “Final verdict: Should you use [product/strategy]?”It’s basically writing the Q&A structure into the article itself, so AI can easily pick and choose the right parts to quote.

✅ Adding context-rich backlinks (not just random domain authority)Instead of chasing high DA links, I’m prioritizing links from sites that are topically relevant to my content, and linking to specific, in-depth resources within my articles. My goal isn’t just to boost rankings — it’s to signal to AI engines that my content is well-researched, cross-verified, and part of a trusted knowledge ecosystem.

I know this is just the start, though. I still have a lot of questions:

- What’s one small tweak you’ve made to your article structure that made a huge difference in AI citations?

- Are there specific types of backlinks that you’ve seen perform way better for GEO than others?

- Any common mistakes I should avoid, since I’m still new to this?

Would love to hear what’s working for the rest of you!
