Posted in r/askapriest. And was curious to the theology of the blessings, how could different blessings like in the eastern rite, the old rite, and the new one make the same holy water with the same effects?

I was looking up the old Rituale Romanum and asked AI about If me, as a lay person asking a priest to bless water and salt to make Holy Water is possible. And it replied with conflicting answers each time. It said that under Traditionis Custodes unless the priests is of a personal parish that celebrates the TLM then it’s not permitted, or they have to ask their bishop for approval, but that doesn’t really line up with the priests online that says they’re still using the old rite of blessings??? Anyways I’m just really confused. And if it’s possible, do they have to bless it in Latin or it could be done in vernacular. Thanks!
