Volkswagen Atlas owners — how has your experience been? Reliability, fuel consumption, and common problems?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently considering a Volkswagen Atlas for my next family vehicle, and I’d like to hear from actual owners about your real-world experience.
I’m especially interested in the long-term reliability and the bad sides of ownership, not just the things you like about it.
For Atlas owners:
- What year and trim do you have?
- What is your actual fuel consumption in L/100 km for city and highway driving?
- How has the engine and transmission reliability been?
- Any oil consumption or oil-burning issues?
- Any coolant leaks, water pump, electrical, infotainment, or sensor problems?
- How expensive has regular maintenance been?
- Any major repairs after the warranty expired?
- How has it held up after 100,000 km or more?
- Are parts and repairs noticeably more expensive compared with Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, etc.?
- What do you dislike the most about your Atlas?
- Would you buy another one?
I currently have a 2019 Kia Sedona with around 135,000 km, and I’m dealing with fairly heavy oil consumption, so reliability and avoiding another major engine/oil-consumption problem are very important to me.
