Should I shorten the long center piece to prevent the flexible part from twisting up?

Should I shorten the long center piece to prevent the flexible part from twisting up?

First time I do some plumbing work, needed to change the system under the sink and I'm worried that the flexible part goes up instead of down. Is it fine or should I shorten the center piece? Thanks!

Low rear rack for high eyelet

I'm trying to find a rear rack (compatible with panniers) that would fit my gravel bicycle but the eyelets are so high (circled in red) that I can't seem to find one that would not seat too high. I measured the rack height needed to be around 15mm on top of the mudguards (mounted on the green circled eyelet) and it would be approximately 290mm which I simply can't find.
Am I doomed to get a thru-axle mounted rack? That would be quite lower (I marked it approximately at the red line) but it seems more annoying whenever one needs to remove the rear wheel.

Fixing overstretched elastic webbing

I am trying to restore a pair of vintage lounge chairs and the elastic webbing under the seat is really overstretched. Can it be fixed or trimmed? If not, is it something standardized or do I need to look for something in specific to find the right replacement?
Thanks!

Go-to clothes for all-day-on-bike job

Hey! I'm going to start a gig as an itinerant bicycle mechanic and I'm looking to find clothes that will be comfy while cycling to clients but also when working on their bicycle so I will probably not bring my lycra! :D
Do you have any recommendation for that type of use? Thanks!
