Been on a small kick again and I wanted to draw Dil and Savannah so I made this little video for funsies.

I’ve had this art done since 2024 but due to hiatus and not wanting to reveal the designs before releasing the chapter I’ve held off. Here’s one year older designs of Sam and Freddie, one off characters who appeared in the episode Oppsites Attract, who now are joining the preschool classes!
After taking a two year hiatus from writing I finally, as of July 4th updated my fan series Rugrats: The Preschool Years a story that is not only a sequel to Tommy Pickles: The Terrible Twos but is a story series that follows the gang into preschool where they’re learning a whole lot of new things alongside meeting some new friends (and even some old ones!)
They’ve made physical characters for Kira’s parents! The only time they’ve been brought up in the original was in Home Sweet Home.

Peep how when the Mehta’s started singing that Darsh’s words are very much gibberish as were hearing it from an “adults’ perspective” the last time the reboot did this was way back in Season 1 once with Chuckie (Tail of the Dogbot) and another with Susie (The Werewoof Hunter). Having moments where we can hear the baby gibberish from the adults side of things is something I always found sweet and wished we got more moments of. I know we had it in Season 1 of Rugrats but they never really continued to do much so outside of that one specific episode of “At the Movies” unless I’m forgetting another moment or two (unless you count Tommy’s whimpering and whining in The First Cut when Didi was giving him first aid lol).
Pulled from the LATAM feed last night we have the intro now at higher quality and in the correct NTSC pitch 😊

So we found out that tonight’s episode of Rugrats (2021) season 3 episode 9: New Year on Ice wasn’t recorded by the person who’s been working with my friend and I to get the episodes preserved due to it being forgotten about. So I’m asking if anyone that has access to Nick Global if you’ve potentially recorded the episode and could please maybe DM me the recording of the episode if possible?
With no current known or guaranteed release of the episode in the US the Nick Global airing has been the only chance with no additional airings planned
From Season 3 Episode 7a: Forest Friends
The one thing I absolutely enjoy about the reboot is that, even if it’s subtle and in the background,they’re actually letting Dil grow some. He went from newborn to sitting up unassisted without a pillow which is a huge improvement of his character from the og series where he still had to use his pillow to help him sit up even if they gave him other traits that showed signs of him supposedly growing up 😊
We all remember that in the Season 2 episode Toy Palace there was a Time Machine in the toy store. What if the babies or maybe even their future kids had gotten into that Time Machine and somewhere along the way messed with something even as small as kicking a rock somewhere and that’s what created the alternate timeline of what became the reboot?
I mean we already have old jokes of saying that Tommy is a time lord with that trusty screwdriver of his 😂
For those who want the explanation, after Gabi notices the twins eating Lemons she asks Betty if she gets that from their donor. In which Betty tells her about how the twins get their traits from Howard. Also it’s revealed Howard is an entomologist!
Howard finally makes his appearance and it turns out the twins are just like him in many ways!

If you live outside of the US and have access to Nick Global’s feed, it’d be encouraged for you to record the season 3 episodes for the Rugrats reboot and get them saved somewhere if possible. The current airings at the moment as far as we know are the ONLY time these episodes are airing. Obviously this can change in the future but there’s no guarantee they will when we can’t even guarantee a US release happening anytime soon!
Even if you don’t care that deeply, there’s a chance you likely do understand that no matter how bad you may personally think it is, no one deserves to have their work become lost media whether it be tv show, movie, or video game. Right now, Paramount isn’t doing anything with the series in the foreseeable future so we encourage you to record the episodes if you can.

Seen a bit of discussion bringing up fanfiction and while I would say I’m still in a bit of a hiatus I do want to bring up that I do have a Rugrats fanfic series that’s going to follow the gang into preschool aka what Preschool Daze SHOULD have been. It’s titled Rugrats: The Preschool Years and comes after my prior series Tommy Pickles: The Terrible Twos which is an og series continuation fanfic that takes place over a year after Season 9.
The two series are a bit of some passion projects more so than anything as I’ve enjoyed writing new ways and adventures to expand the Rugrats universe bring back some old familiar characters (such as the characters from Golden Apple Daycare in the episode The Big House) alongside introducing new ones. I’ve even taken some of the reboot characters and repurposed them to fill specific roles in the preschool series and 2dified them.
Obviously I also currently already have and will continue and make links to connect to AGU and maybe at some point go beyond AGU and into a whole second gen series. 🤗
(The black characters are my oc siblings Savannah Green (orange shirt) and Samayah Green (red dress) that currently live in the Rugrats neighborhood next door to the Carmichaels)
Can’t prove or deny it’s true but I saw this background character and immediately thought he looked fairly similar to Teddy. Granted he looks closer to Teddy’s original design than later but still having the skin tone of his later design.
First time he’s been in the background too in comparison to the rest of the kids who are seen in the background on the regular, which is part of why he stood out to me so quickly.

As the episodes have started premiering on Nick Global as of yesterday. We’ve been surprised with a brand new intro sequence for the season! Much like the og series and its newer intro sequence. We get a similar one in the reboot that now includes: Dil, Kimi, Darsh and Nyra whom all joined in Season 2!
It has been found in a reply to a user asking on Twitter/X about the UK release of the game on PlayStation
Seems the approval process was delayed in the UK and it won’t release until next week
In response to a user on X/Twitter asking about the digital release of the newly announced package deal of Rugrats games, Limited Run has now stated due to some plans shifting, the digital release for PC (Steam), PS5, and Nintendo Switch is now on May 22, 2026.

In addition to the announcement of the Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection, Limited Run Games is also releasing a Game Boy Color cartridge with three games: The Rugrats Movie, Rugrats: in Paris the Movie and Rugrats: Time Travelers!
