Acclimatization is not optional
Ladakh sits above 3,000m. Spend at least 1–2 days in Leh doing nothing heavy. Ignoring this can ruin your entire trip due to Acute Mountain Sickness.

Your bike matters more than your ego
Choose reliability over style. Whether it’s a Royal Enfield Himalayan or any well-maintained bike, condition matters more than engine size.

Pack smart, not heavy
Carry riding gear, thermals, gloves, rain cover, and basic meds. Overpacking will make off-road sections like water crossings and gravel much harder.

Fuel planning is crucial
Petrol pumps are limited beyond Leh. Carry extra fuel if you’re heading to remote routes like Pangong, Hanle, or Umling La.

Expect bad roads — that’s the beauty
Don’t expect smooth highways. Landslides, water crossings, and broken patches are part of the experience.

Weather changes fast
Sunny mornings can turn into freezing winds or snowfall within hours, especially in Changthang.

Permits are required
Inner Line Permits are needed for places like Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and Hanle.

Network is unreliable
Only postpaid SIMs (like Airtel/BSNL) work in most areas. Even then, expect no signal in many stretches.

Ride slow — it’s not a race
Altitude + terrain = risk. Ride at your pace and avoid riding after sunset.

Respect locals and the environment
Don’t litter. Ladakh is fragile and beautiful because people respect it.
