Hi everyone, I'm in Leh for a 7-day bike trip and would appreciate some advice.
Flew Delhi → Leh yesterday (18 Aug), arriving around 9:30 AM after a very sleep-deprived journey. Developed a 4–5/10 throbbing headache, which got worse at night along with nausea and dizziness. Took Ondem-MD + paracetamol around 3–4 AM and slept.
Today (19 Aug) I feel substantially better. There is no headache or nausea. No breathlessness at all. However, my Noise smartwatch showed SpO₂ around 80%.
I am a little scared due to this. Is 80% a normal reading? Our itinerary as part of a tour group is:
18–19: Leh/rest and acclimatization
20: Leh local sightseeing on bike
21: Khardung La → Nubra
Then Turtuk → Pangong → Leh ending on 25th.
We'll only spend a short time at Khardung La and descend afterward.
Were my symptoms AMS, sleep deprivation/dehydration, or a combination? And if I'm completely symptom-free by the 21st, would you consider the Khardung La ride reasonable?
Thanks!
Hi, I have a Tata Curvv EV as well as Suzuki Jimny (petrol), and I am planning a trip to ladakh from 23 August, 2026. I will be travelling from Srinagar.
The areas I want to cover are Kargil, Leh, Nubra, Pangong, Hanle and then Back to Kargil and Srinagar.
Is travelling with EV is good option or not? how EV friendly is Ladakh acutally?
Hi, my family has planned a trip to Leh-Nubra-Pangong-Leh from 26th September to 3rd October. All the flights and hotels have been already booked.
I want to know what type of temparatures and wind-chill factors should we prepare for.
Some forecast are showing that the lows will drop to -7°c around that time in Leh. And the max temperature will be +8-10°c
Compared to that how cold/windy will it be in Pangong?
I'm assuming Pangong Tso will be much colder and windier than Leh. Atleast 5-7 degrees lower than what it is at Leh.
The forecast is also predicting cloudy weather around that time.
Since my parents are 55 and 60 years old I want to play it on the safer side and be well prepared in terms of jackets and warm clothes even if the shopping comes out to be a bit expensive.
-------
Are the forecasts usually accurate? Can locals and experience travellers from this sub please shed some light on this. Thank you in advance.
------
Talked to the hotel guy whom we have booked with in Pangong he is saying that the temparature will definitely fall in negative around that time but can't say exactly to which degree it will fall.
-----
any help and suggestions are welcome thank you.
Reached Diskit early, before the crowds. The climb to the Lord Maitreya statue serene - the view over Nubra, with the Shyok cutting through the dunes, is something else altogether.

Hey everyone,I'm looking into attending the Suru Outdoor Fest in Ladakh this September (September 10–25, 2026) and wanted to connect with the community here.If you have been to previous editions or are planning to go this year, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Specifically:
The Experience: For those who have done it before, how is the overall vibe at the campsite? How easy is it to integrate into the group if you show up alone?
Connecting: If anyone else here is already registered or seriously planning to go, let's connect! Always great to know a few familiar faces or coordinate travel plans ahead of time.
Drop a comment or send a DM if you're heading up there or have any tips for the festival.
Thanks!
Hi All,
Im planning to visit Ladakh to attend the Ladakh festival. Can't find much relevant posts/videos.
Has anyone here experienced it?
This was a final that had everyone holding its breath.
Tied at 5-5, deep into the third period, before Phuntsog Namgail found the net in the closing moments to seal it 6-5 and crown Indian Army Ice Hockey Team the first-ever Royal Enfield Challengers' Cup champions.
"Today's match was very challenging, we took a lot of penalties. But every player did play their roles well, including the goalie. As a captain I knew we wouldn't disappoint our fans and the spectators. We are very happy we won" says Tsewang Namgail as he reflects on the win.
With over 15,000+ fans cheering for their favourite teams across the tournament, Indian Army Ice Hockey Team and Leh Kings went goal for goal in the Challengers' Cup final.
Drawn from players who came up through the Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League, Leh Kings edged out Central Ice Hockey Team ITBP to take their place in the final, a testament to the region's growing talent.
'Our first match was also against the Indian Army Ice Hockey Team, but at that time, we didn't have much planning, so we couldn't execute our game plan properly. But today, our team played very well. We had a clear plan, and we executed it really well" said the captain of Leh Kings Tsering Gyalpo.
Indian Army Ice Hockey Team's season, in numbers: 38 goals, with Jigmath Kunzang leading the charge with 8, and picking up Player of the Final for his efforts. Sonam Tsetan took home Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament, while Leh Kings' Tsering Angchuk was named Best Player of the Tournament.

Heyyy, I'm in Leh till Saturday - have covered many offbeat places around Leh with scooty.
Going to do some cycling activities and others too.
Lemme know if anyone want to join, we can discuss in detail
I'm pretty flexible to change my plans. I don't care about your gender but please be a bit adventurous.
Send me your travel dates, age and sex. Happy journey!
Note for mods - sharing experience - so not breaking any rule i guess... Just offering if anyone wants to experience it
Solo rider with a camp.
Borrowed the sheets from Acho Camping, the one in front.
That was a magical night, heavy dinner in a local dhaba, -5°, looking at the star studded sky, a camp beside me and this crazy single mountain in front of me.
Reliving this experience while posting this.
I met solo youtuber named Harshit (DOI Wheels) and Jon Snow.
Surprisingly, he mentioned about Shangarh, staying in RAFA (which I'm a co-owner) and then we shared a coffee, talked about a lot of things. And parted our ways in Manali after Shinku La.
Hello All, we are traveling from Pangong to Hanle and Hanle to Tso Moriri. Google shows Hanle to Tso Moriri via Nyoma-Chumthang, approximately 8hrs drive. However I saw some post here that road via Salsal La and Chumur to Karzok is also open (Not Visible on Google Maps).
Can anyone confirm this road and how much time it takes for Hanle to Karzok? Is there any petrol pump on this road? If there is no petrol pump, we might have to fuel up last in Nyoma while coming from Pangong to Hanle, Hanle to Tso Moriri (Via Chumur) and then Tso Moriri to Jispa. This whole route there is no petrol pump.
Any suggestions are welcome.
I love everything about this place.Landscapes,culture,people.This was my 3rd trip. The more I go,the more I am in awe of this place.Raring to go again...
