How to improve absorption time of other oral necessary medication?

I take amitriptyline in the evening as a migraine preventative, and that usually results in being sleepy at bedtime. However, at 4 mg, I am noticing that the sleepiness is not happening; and rather the opposite is happening. I’m finding it’s harder to fall asleep at all.

Also, when a severe episode strikes, oral meds are my tool to reduce migraine pain (primarily NSAIDs).

  1. does any else notice this delayed absorption effect on their normal oral medication?

  2. have you found anything to help when you need to more quickly absorb an oral medication?
