Review of Blood of the Fairest

Review of Blood of the Fairest

I was lucky enough to get to read Morgan B. Lee's new book as an advanced reading copy, {Blood of the Fairest by Morgan B. Lee}

It's book 1 in a new series. Planned trilogy, might be more. I wanted to share my review because this was perfect! If you've read Morgan's other series, {the Cursed Legacies by Morgan B. Lee}, and loved it, you will not be disappointed.

My review copied from my Goodreads review:

This is an infinity stars read for me!

And I have no doubt this series will become a favourite of mine.

Ever wished you could live in one of the fairytales? Be a princess, rescued by the prince or dancing with him at a ball? Maybe you wanted to know if the Huntsman can use his strength for something other than slaying monsters?

Well, Verena gets the whole package, just… as the Evil Queen in Snow White. With no idea how she got there, who she is waking up as, or how to get back, Verena tries to navigate a world that shouldn’t exist. She is no damsel in distress because she has already lived nightmares and survived. But learning the new vernacular is hard, and she doesn’t even try. So prepare yourself for many many many modern-day references that will drive the people around her nuts!

If you are a fan of the TV show Once Upon A Time this will be perfect for you! It’s just in reverse. Instead of all the fairytale people coming here, you go there. And instead of the pretty versions it’s the original Grimm versions. So darker, gruel.

While Verena tries to figure out how to go back she finds allies even though it’s hard when every one assumes she’s the Evil Queen. So there are “hiccups “ 😅

This is a why choose and the harem will evolve over the series. You will try to guess who’s in but Miss Morgan has made it difficult to tell.

This story is hilarious, sad, sweet, heartwarming, magical, sexy, dark-ish with minor horror elements, that will have you seated until you are finished! Staring at the wall. Wondering what the h3ll just happened.

Help me pick my next read!

I just got a new batch home and wanted to hear what you would recommend of these books as my next read. I also have Blood & Ruin series by Rumer Hale that I'm considering.

Shifting fate is the whole series.

I do love spicy spice and fast burn but I know some of these don't get spicy until book 2 which is okay.

For reference some of my favourite RH are "Ruthless boys of the Zodiac", "Beasts of the Briar", anything by Tessa Hale hits a good spot (but not spicy enough though) and I love "Prize of the King" too (not done with it though).

I also love "Her Vicious Beasts" and just finished book 3, but the rage I feel towards some of the MMCs and the injustice make it hard for me to continue it right now. I do love good grovelling though.

I've read a few of Invi Wright's books and love her writing too. I loved book 1 of The Female but the series took a few turns that kind of ruined it for me by book 3 (too much boyfriends are all boyfriends too).

I don't mind if the writing isn't superb or the plot is heavy. But the characters need to be felt and the tension and banter good. Plus I prefer an FMC with back bone and not just sassy and bitchy but actually badass and can defend herself.

I am also technically reading "Bloom & Blood" by Eva Chase but got stuck about 50% in. Have you read it and is it worth continuing? It is sloooow burn, I get that, but I feel like something is missing. But I am a mood reader so I skip and hop around books and worlds all the time haha!

The books to choose from are:

{Raven blood by M. Sinclair}

{Hell's reaper by Rune Hunt}

{Ravage by A L Rook}

{First Kill by Lucy Auburn}

{The cursed Kingdom by Invi Wright}

{Shifting Fate by Tessa Hale}

{Blood & ruin by Rumer Hale}

*Edit: added a book I already owned but not in the picture.
