Help with jack.

In the USA.

We bought our daughter a 2003 XL7 a month ago. We know the jack is under the back seat but we haven’t been able to figure out how to get it out. We live very rural with lots of dirt roads and construction so I’d like to figure it out before she actually needs to use it.

Thank you.

Guidance and ideas needed

I’m new to the group. Hello!

I’m the wife of a type2. He was diagnosed a little over a year ago and things aren’t moving in the right direction for him. I have some questions so that hopefully I can get him moving in the right direction.

Basic info first. His last A1c was 9.2, up from 8.? 3 months prior. His highest has been a 10.2 (irc). He refuses to check his sugars. His PCP had him on metformin and ozempic. Ozempic wasn’t working as well as she wanted so just she switched him to Mounjaro and still using metformin. She wants him to use a CGM but getting insurance approval is a pain because he’s not on insulin. I did get him a free Libre 3 to try out. Now I just need him to use the dang thing. His mom is diabetic, has been for over 30 years, and does her best to get him to do what he needs but backed off after 6 months.

I know he’s capable as back in 2021 he lost a considerable amount of weight and was on top of food tracking. This diagnosis has taken everything out of him on doing what he needs. I know he’s frustrated and scared but he just can’t seem to get over that hump that the diagnosis laid in front of him.

Questions:
1: how do I help encourage him to use his free Libre and to continue to check his numbers without moving him further in the wrong direction?

2: what are more appropriate meals that aren’t just strictly keto? Eggs aren’t an option for us right now either.

3: since I’m the one that needs to prepare the foods how do I better understand the macros? Some of my research suggests that higher fiber is what’s needed. For example: some apple can be ok because of fiber but grapes aren’t as good of choice? Am I understanding correctly?

I’m very overwhelmed as 4 out of my 5 household members need special diets and I’m trying my best to bring them all into 1 as much as possible but food for my hubby is the hardest. The other diets in my home are: texture issues for my son on the spectrum, gluten free for my daughter with EDS, gluten intolerance (not celiac), and IBS, and I benefit from low carb as I’ve had bariatric surgery (5.5 years ago). My 2 kids and I see a nutritionist (we are tribal so we get her for free, hubby is not tribal) and she’s doing her best help me wrangle things in but it’s tough.

I appreciate everyone that took the time to read and is able to offer me suggestions. TY!
